Return to Pre-injury Activity after ACL Reconstruction on Athletes : Remnant Preserving Technique

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to analyze the result of return to sports and to pre-injury sports activity after ACL reconstruction with remnant preserving technique on athletes. 20 athletes who had undergone ACL reconstruction were evaluated. The mean age was 19.8 and male was 11 and female 9. 11 out of 20 had ACL remnant and had under- gone ACL reconstruction with remnant preserving technique. At final follow up, return to sports was possible in 16 cases(80%) and return to pre-injury sports activity in 11 cases(55%). Comparing patients with and without remnant, return to sports was 10(90.9%) and 6(66.6%), and return to pre-injury sports activity was 7(63.6%) and 4(44.4%), respectively. The results were good when reconstructed with ACL remnant preserving technique.
